What are bioplastics?
Bioplastics are plastics that are made from natural biodegradable sources such as vegetable oils, starch, straw and food waste etc. Bioplastics can be reused if they are broken down into small pieces and heated with water until they dissolve, they can be recasted into a new form. Bio plastics take three to six months to fully decompose. That is much quicker than synthetic counterparts that take several hundred years.
I have created my bio plastics from four ingredients; corn starch, water, white vinegar and Glycerine. For the colouring I have extracted dye from an onion creating a copper orange.
